Global furniture manufacturer extends market footprint through acquisition, reaffirms commitment to American craftsmanship

OREM, Utah — January 2, 2018 — MITY Inc., the parent company of highly durable furniture brands including MityLite® and Holsag™, acquired Bertolini Inc., a privately owned manufacturer of seating products focused on hospitality, public assembly and worship markets. This acquisition builds on the MITY Inc. legacy of durability and innovation, and positions the organization to deliver a broader product offering within key markets. The transfer of ownership was effective December 30, 2017.

Bertolini Hospitality & Design Manufactures and Custom Builds Banquet Chairs for Hilton Properties

Bertolini Hospitality & Design continues to have the greatest opportunity to manufacture and custom build banquet chairs for Hilton properties. Traveling on the East Coast, West Coast or anywhere in between, people are likely to come across a Hilton Hotel with meeting and banquet rooms filled with Bertolini custom build chairs. Hilton properties reflect some of Bertolini Hospitality & Design’s largest and most elegant installations.

“For the Hilton Hawaiian Village located on Waikiki beach in Hawaii we had the chance to work with two different design teams on two separate banquet facilities. For the Coral Ballroom we had the pleasure of working with Carl Ross and his Clear on Black design team. For the Tapas Conference Room we worked with Pacific Asia Design Group. Each design team put their own spin on our seating and selected a great frame finish and fabric that allowed the banquet seating to enhance the look and feel of the rooms they were in”, says Jeff Sladick,Director of Sales for Bertolini Hospitality & Design.

Halfway up the East Coast, in the Great DC area, there is a handful of Hilton properties that have chosen Bertolini’s products, from upholstered in refined bronze tones to flashy red faux leathers. Some of these properties are well known for lavish weddings and extravagant balls. Others are hot spots for government press conferences and regular meeting sites for the President.

Bertolini Incorporated Introduces Customer Centric Delivery Program

Bertolini Incorporated introduced a fourth company truck with a blanket-lined 53 ft. trailer. In celebration of their commitment to 100% customer satisfaction, the truck’s visually designed trailer graphics clearly state “We Stand Behind Every Chair We Build” and utilize the real-life photographs of their very own dedicated employees that work in the Lawrenceburg, Tennessee manufacturing facility.

Bertolini’s customer centric delivery program offers customers the advantage of not having to worry about off-loading chairs from the trailer as normally would be required with those shipped via common carriers. Additionally this customer centric delivery program supports Bertolini’s sustainability program; customers don’t have to worry about filling their dumpster with cardboard as the driver can remove protective corrugated packaging for return to the factory to be reused on future shipments.

The initial trailer will be used mainly for planned route deliveries every other week to the large customer base in the states of Georgia, Florida and Texas. Instead of a standard delivery process used by common carriers, Bertolini’s special delivery program offers their customers the advantage of allowing the driver to walk the packaged chair stacks down the trailer ramp right to their door.

In addition to this new semi trailer, Bertolini, Inc. already has two straight/box trucks in use for deliveries within 250 miles of the plant in Lawrenceburg. “Bertolini plans to continue expanding its customer centric delivery program and offer it to more customers in the future with additional blanket-lined 53 ft. trailers and delivery routes that will allow shipments to more states,” says Gary Daniels, Plant Manager in Lawrenceburg, TN.

The Harmony Series is the perfect canvas to mix and match frame and shell configurations highly customizable to produce a stunning look. The series features high-pressure laminate shells that offer a variety of shapes, frames, cut-outs and finishes as well as endless customization opportunities. It can achieve a truly unique look with customized proprietary shape design, shell, cutout, veneer, and frame. Standard natural veneers come in a great selection that includes Beech, Birch, and Maple with the choice of a clear or stained finish. Special veneers such as Cherry, Walnut, and Oak are available as well. Additionally Bertolini offers laminates from the leading suppliers in the industry. They also provide sustainable, reconstituted and engineered exotic wood veneers in varieties like Zebrawood, Wenge, and Birds Eye Maple from both Apli® and Tabu®.

Each model component is digitized using a Microscribe digitizing arm to create a full 3-D model in SolidWorks and transferred to CNC machines using MasterCAM technology. A specialized simulation software is also used to guarantee the accuracy of the press tools and the machining of the parts before being released for production. Its high-resistance commercial grade finish is included on all the exposed grade products. Additionally, they offer expert color-matching for special wood stain finishes. All finished products are exclusively water-based. The shells are also designed for heavy duty commercial use. The core veneers are all high-density hardwoods, mostly beech, maple or birch. The overall thickness is just under ½” with a minimum of 9 layers of veneer.

Bertolini Inc. Launches Sustainability Training Program for Employees

Bertolini Inc. has made a big leap forward with the launch of their Sustainability Training Program for Employees. Their first training session was held at their corporate headquarters in Chino, CA. This was a trial for launching the program company wide. The first training session was a successful overview of the Sustainability every Bertolini built-to-order chair has.

Every Bertolini built-to-order chair is built with locally sourced materials. From the 16 gauge cold rolled steel chair frame that is produced from 100% recyclable AMERICAN made steel, the patent pending BLOW MOLDED FLEX-FIT™ SEAT which is produced with 30 to 50% post industrial recycled materials, and the ergo-V back foundation made from pre-consumer/post-industrial recycled ABS polymers. Bertolini Inc. also works with one of America’s leading producers of foam cushioning using their bio-based foam products. These foam cushioning products leave a smaller environmental footprint in comparison to traditional foams made with petroleum products, are fully recyclable, are free of the controversial PBDE (Polybrominated diphenyl ethers) and are produced without the use of chlorinated fluorocarbons.

Bertolini Hospitality & Design is excited to welcome Reynold “REN” Texeira as Hospitality Territory Sales Manager. Ren has been with Bertolini Inc. for 18 years and recently transitioned over to BertoliniHD from the Sanctuary Seating division. Ren works with clients and agents in the West Coast Division.

Bertolini Hospitality & Design is also excited to welcome Toni Hackett and Nicole Sartor to their new positions as Business Developers. Both Toni and Nicole began with Bertolini Inc. in 2013 assisting potential customers in product acquisition. They are our first point of contact for clients and our outside agents.
